The government’s case
National highway length and construction pace rose sharply, airports more than doubled, metro networks expanded to dozens of cities, and rural electrification and household connections reached near-universal coverage. Logistics costs have begun to fall as dedicated freight corridors come online.
The opposition’s case
Volume has outpaced quality control. Cost overruns, project delays, early-life failures on new stretches and uneven maintenance budgets raise questions about durability. Critics argue marquee projects were prioritised over unglamorous local infrastructure, water and urban drainage.
